Dunaway utilizes a variety of design visualization techniques and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications. These techniques allow the entire project team—planners, engineers, architects, and contractors—to view the project in ways that were not previously possible. This collaborative process allows enhanced synergy that helps eliminate surprises that can add cost and delays to a project. For example, blending Building Information Modeling (BIM) and AutoCAD Civil 3D Civil Engineering Software, Dunaway provides design visualization applications during the early site development phase at a time when key decisions are made that impact the long-term success of the project. Other visualization capabilities include software such as "Google SketchUp" to allow 3D modeling that facilitates the placement of models in Google Earth and allow clients to "see" designs before they are built.
GIS is another technology embraced by Dunaway, especially in its work with energy and utility clients. Our professionals help these clients maintain current inventories of sites, leases, rights-of-way, and buffer areas and help organize data, images, and reports in a manner that links data with maps and geophysical information. For example, an overlay of appraisal district maps with lease maps, including lease dates and other information, can provide valuable operational knowledge.
