Project Update: Over a two day period, two spans of eleven 75-foot-long beams were placed completing the Walsh Ranch Parkway overpass crossing Quail Ridge Parkway.

February 21-14, Cleburne High School’s team competed in District 4 SkillsUSA Land Surveying competition, and will attend the State-wide competition April 4-7. 

Dunaway’s Spencer McIntosh continues to serve as a professional mentor to Cleburne HS’ SkillsUSA Land Surveying team. SkillsUSA is a National Organization geared towards promoting vocational skills in high schools and colleges across the nation.

Competition includes completion of four tasks:

• • A two-hour written exam covering topics from the history of surveying to survey calculations
  • A field exercise including a horizontal- and vertical-angle measurements, horizontal distance taping, and transferring vertical control from point to point
  • An in-person interview and resume review
  • Field computations and hand sketches without using computers, data collectors, or graphing calculators

Dunaway Associates’ Planning + Landscape Architecture group was awarded a Merit Award in the Texas Chapter of American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) 2013 Professional Awards Program for its work on Camp El Tesoro, a Camp Fire USA youth camp. The award recognizes outstanding examples of work by Texas landscape architects and the contribution of the project to quality of life in Texas. Dunaway developed the El Tesoro site master plan, worked with an architect to develop prototypical buildings, and published a 57-page master plan document to guide development efforts. Currently, Dunaway is leading the design effort on the improvements laid out in the plan.
