Project Engineer Posted: 09/01/2010 Salary: Commensurate with experience and responsibilities. Responsibilities: Assist the Project Manager with managerial aspects of the project.
Develop the design of grading, drainage, paving water and sanitary sewer plans.
Verifies design computations and plan detailing for conformance with codes, manuals, and design considerations.
May utilize AutoCAD and/or other various software applications as design tools.
Visits project sites occasionally to review general progress of construction and responds to requests for site visits concerning elements of the design for which our firm is responsible.
Coordinates with other engineers, technicians, and administrative assistants during preliminary and final plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements.
Seeks technical information from peers when problems are encountered and expected to be outside of one's own area of expertise.
Prepares draft correspondence, technical specifications and reports.
Attends and participates at client meetings, as appropriate.
Directs some or all cadd production staff on team.
Communicates with project team members, client representatives, review agencies, and others as appropriate to project
Coordinates final design computations with review agencies.
Has primary responsibility for quality control of design subject to review and approval of the Project Manager.
Prepares draft cost estimates, may periodically report on construction activities, pay estimates, and reviews shop drawings and submittals for compliance with the design.
Mentors the technical abilities of team members.
Minimum of two years Civil design experience required and Civil 3D preferred. |
