Environmental Scientist I - Natural Resources

Salary: Commensurate with experience and responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for project management of a broad variety of assignments in the field of natural resources including wetland delineations, wetland mitigation and monitoring plans, permitting, Environmental Impact Statements, Environmental Assessments, waters of the U.S. studies and permitting, vegetative studies, habitat assessments, and threatened and endangered species investigations. The successful applicant should be able to conduct field work unsupervised.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of multiple projects assigned to him/her by combining overall technical and project management accountability.
- Ensures the client shall receive all services described in the contract and that cost of the project shall be within established budgets.
- Manages projects (or portions thereof) as outlined in Firm’s Project Manager’s Manual.
- Assigns duties to project team members, answers their questions, monitors their progress, and checks completed project work for accuracy.
- Provides technical expertise or advice in one or more specialty areas.
- Prepares complex reports, studies, and correspondence.
- Works with junior staff in mentoring and QA/QC.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources & Wildlife Management, Range Management, Forestry or related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in areas cited above is preferred.
- 1-5 years of relevant progressive experience (a Master’s degree in an appropriate study can substitute for 2 years experience).
