TCU - Smith Entrepreneurs Hall
Fort Worth The Steve and Sarah Smith Entrepreneurs Hall is a 50,000+ sf. classroom building located on the eastern side of the TCU campus. This facility is magnificent and it is an understatement to say ''What an exciting addition to the M.J. Neely School of Business''.
Drainage & Storm Water ManagementProject Category: Higher Education (2-4 year institutions)Unique Challenge DrainageUnique Challenge Summary The grading plan design for this building was somewhat unique in that the final top elevations of the sidewalk and lawn system needed to blend in with the adjacent, existing campus with acceptable ingress and egress slopes to and from the new building. Also challenging was to solve a pre-existing drainage problem in this area of the campus. This area of the TCU campus was an old residential subdivision, and there was not an underground storm drain system sufficient in capacity to handle storm water runoff. There had to be considerable coordination with the City of Fort Worth to design a new storm drain system to collect and transfer the stormwater around Smith Hall into and downhill in the adjacent public street.
